Who’s on first?

Sometimes I have to admit, I’ll take delight in a little chocolate or going out and hitting a bucket of golf balls. But what do you think the Lord delights in?

10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
11 the LORD delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Psalm 147:10-11 (NIV)

He takes delight in those who fear Him, simply meaning those who put Him first. If your like me your tendency is to put yourself first. So to say the least it’s not always easy to keep God right where He should be, first. But if God delights in it like the word says, you can bet it’s always powerful!

Eat green, to save some green!

Take it from me weight lose is not always is easy! In this video my nephew Nick shows us how he lost sixteen pounds in just two weeks! Basically he replaced one meal with this special shake that he shows us how to make. Add a little walking and you’re going to be on your way to getting back in shape in no time!

Why would we want to do this? Well for one the bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, meaning when you accept Christ as your Savior the Spirit of God lives within in you.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)

The Holy Spirit is your guide, sort of like a compass. And the more sensitive you become to Him, the Spirit of God, the better off you’ll be.

So taking care of our bodies is pleasing to God or it wouldn’t be in the bible. Not to mention all the health benefits we get from taking better care of ourselves. By the way, Nicky stated you might burp a few times, everyone is different but I didn’t burp once. Another added bonus is saving money. When you eat fruits and veggies you save some green.

Were talking replacing one meal a day with this shake. So consult your doctor, see if your body is ready to start exercising and drinking healthy shakes. Then give it a go!

Lord of the harvest

Many of us often wonder what can we do to change our cities, our towns and even our country, so yea what can we do? Or better yet what is the most powerful thing we can do?

Well the bible says in Matthew 9 that there is a harvest, a way to help folks, a way to forever change lives. And it involves leading folks to the Savior, and God says that potential harvest is huge.

But Jesus goes on to say in Matthew 9:37-38 that although the harvest is huge, the workers are few. Meaning there are not many who are helping bring that harvest home.

So what’s the solution? Jesus said therefore we should all pray, all of us, that the Lord of the harvest would send out more workers,

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matt 9.38 NIV

Jesus is saying pray, and pray for help for your city, your town by asking God to send out folks who will work that harvest! That’s how your going to bring change to a hurting and violent world.

See you in prayer.
