January’s Faith Challenge!

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Matthew 14:28-31 (NIV)

At least Peter got out of the boat right? Better yet at least the Lord told him invited him out. But why did Peter doubt? That’s what the Lord asked him, “Why did you doubt?” Boy I look back and think of how many times the Lord must have asked me the same question, “Chris, why did you doubt?”

Most of us doubt for the same reason Peter did, we stand in two ways, we consider two options and we become double minded. When Peter was just focused on Jesus he was walking on water, but when a second option entered his mind doubt set in, and he sank.

Listen I don’t care if it takes us all year, were going to work together and get the doubt out! Who’s with me on this detail? Then leave me a comment so I can pray for you and let’s start right now by praying this prayer the whole month of January. Are you in?

“Dear Lord, teach me not to doubt or be double minded. Develop me into someone that has mountain moving faith and prays with authority, in Jesus name amen!

    Amen, Brother! I am with you; not a day goes by that I don’t find myself divided between serving the Lord or serving myself. As a sinner and a man, all to often I try to solve issues and make things happen because I get impatient and want it my way. Pray for me that that I can get the doubt out and walk on the path the Lord has ordained for me.
