The Power of Persistence
By Chris Einwechter in : Practical Prayers // Nov 17 2011
5What is it about persistence that’s so powerful? Well for one it causes people to do things they don’t want to do. Have you ever noticed that? I like to say persistence over comes resistance! Have you ever had anyone wear you out with their persistence?
The bible has a few examples, like the widow who wore out a judge that could have cared less about her. Or how about the man who went to a neighbor for some bread?
5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? 8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Luke 11:5-8 (NIV)
Now in both cases Jesus is telling the story and in both cases persistence caused someone to do something they refused to do. I’d say we should listen and take heed from our Lord and become persistent. Especially when it comes to prayer. Your prayers are resisted, just read the book of Daniel and see how his prayers and even an angel was resisted. No wonder we tend to give up on our prayers and ourselves.
So what are we going to do? Were going to overcome resistance with the power of persistence! I recently prayed for a friend to sell his house everyday. I was lifting this brother up and in one day he got four offers and yes he sold his house! So go ahead pray for someone or something more persistent than you ever have before and just watch what happens!

How to throw the devil a curve ball!
By Chris Einwechter in : Practical Prayers // Nov 14 2011
0It’s been said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, that may be true. But the way to God’s heart is through thanksgiving! One of the most powerful weapons you have is gratitude, so powerful in fact that it can stop Satan right in his tracks! What can Satan do with a thankful Christian? Not much!
Here are a few reason why you should be grateful today:
1) Your loved with an everlasting love by God Himself!
2) Your part of God’s mighty plan!
3) You are victorious because God is victorious!
4) Your God is in control!
5) Your God is perfect in all His ways!
6) Your God is a God of mercy!
7) Your God will take care of you and meet all of your needs!
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)
Throw the devil a curve ball today, by thanking the Lord for who He is and all He has done!

A powerful combo!
By Chris Einwechter in : Practical Prayers // Nov 7 2011
425 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Matthew 6:25-34 (NLT)
It’s clear God doesn’t want us worrying about a thing today. Besides He’s in control and He’s in love with you, and that’s a powerful combination!

NaNoWriMo and fifty thousand words!
By Chris Einwechter in : Practical Prayers // Oct 27 2011
4Have you ever dreamed of writing a book? Many folks do. Have you ever heard of NaNoWriMo? That’s short for National Novel Writing Month, which starts this November 1st. It’s a contest that pushes you to write fifty thousand words in one month. Wow that’s a lot of words right? Yes it is, but as always if God is leading you to do something He’ll make it happen some how.
Of course you’ll need a few things.
(1) Like the support of your friends and family.
(2) You’ll need to write about 1700 words per day.
(3) You’ll need to avoid falling behind even just one day.
(4) You’ll need a place where you can concentrate.
(5) You’ll need a ton of prayer!
(6) You’ll need to stop the temptation to edit. Oh please don’t worry about editing, actully don’t even think about it or you’ll never get it done! Leave that stuff up to someone else later.
(7) And you’ll need not to worry, about anything! Remember your God has a black belt in making things happen!
So maybe your feeling lead to give it a go, and maybe God has laid something on your heart your want to share in a book. If so go for it, and check out the NaNoWriMo web site at www.nanowrimo.org
I don’t normally write about things like this, but who knows maybe God is calling someone out there to write His hearts cry, and this could be just the thing God wants to use to make it happen.
Here are a few more sites that may help you, www.rachellegardner.com/writing-publishing-websites
Also it can be either non fiction or a fiction project. I’d love to hear if your interested and if you are I’ll back you up with prayer for the whole month of November! I’ll be asking God to bless you and to lead you. Besides, if God is for you who can stop you? Maybe several of you can get together and push each other along?
Think about it and let me know, have a great day!

What would you rather have?
By Chris Einwechter in : Practical Prayers // Oct 22 2011
6I think one of the easiest things for us to do is to not rely upon God, would you agree? I mean if we want something we usually can get it through credit or some other means. And I’ve been there all to often! But did you know that’s something God takes real serious? As a matter of fact look what it says in Isaiah 31: 1
1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help,
who rely on horses,
who trust in the multitude of their chariots
and in the great strength of their horsemen,
but do not look to the Holy One of Israel,
or seek help from the LORD.
Isaiah 31:1 (NIV)
Do you see what God is saying here? We should trust in God rather than man and other resources. Now that’s not saying God won’t use others to help us, but we should start in prayer and dependence upon the Lord first and foremost with everything we need. Then what happens? Well let’s look at Lamentations 3:25 in contrast.
25 The Lord is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him.
Lamentations 3:25 (NLT)
What would you rather have, a God that says woe to you or a Father that’s good to you because you choose to wait and depend on Him?
