The secret to seeing God show up!

3/3/2017

Read more: David had a black belt in seeing God show up in his life! And the reason God always showed up for David was simple,

"David Inquired of the Lord." In others words, David prayed.

Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said, “You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees.
24 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”

2 Samuel 5:23-24 New King James Version

David had a habit of asking God what to do, before he would ask anybody else. David's powerful habit set him apart from those around him.

Why? Because most of us, me included, are not in the habit of seeking God first. We usually run to google, or a friend, or a phone call, and then lastly we circle back to the Lord and then pray.

David was different, he would go to God first.

Bottom line, God honors people who put Him first.

This week try to develop the powerful habit of seeking God first, and then if you want to google or contact a friend do it after you've sought the Lord. Do that and then watch what happens!

I'd be willing to bet God will start to show up in places that you haven't seen Him show up before. Which is pretty awesome when that starts to happen.

God bless you and have a great day!

Thank you for responding. Most of the time I do this... but have you ever felt like it's just silence? You don't seem to ever get a response until you see the resolution? There is a huge piece missing.... the part where he tells me what to do... am I praying wrong?
I'm a believer, I make sure my heart is right and forgiven and I have forgiven everyone else,
I try to line up his will in the word to be sure I'm praying his will, I thank him for being who he is and the sacrifice he made to give us life and I'm praying out of my heart ...
I feel like I'm missing a vital structural piece...

I'm praying for salvation for him and his family/friends
Gods will? ✔️
Praying against broken homes
Gods will ?✔️
Praying for a Devine meeting or at least godly men to cross his paths
Gods will? ✔️
Restoration and reconsiliation
Gods will ? ✔️
Yet I can feel I'm missing such a vital and important piece to my prayers and I ask and get nothing ... you may not have the answer either just wanted to ask if you ever dealt with this feeling.
Thanks for your time
Sharon

Sharon,

I am certainly no expert, but as I read your comment, one thing came to my mind. You may pray and not get an answer, but Gods answer may be "No" or "Not right now".

for example,
Yes a broken home is not God's will, but if being in that broken home could cause something worse than what it is now, God may be saying it is not the time to be in that situation right now.

I will be praying for you. God Bless

Sharon,

First of all I would like to say that I'm proud of you for taking all the steps you need to do to see change in your home. And I've prayed for many things in the past that did not change over night, somethings took years to change, but they did change!

And I believe if they did change overnight that I would have not learned what I needed to learn about the Lord.

Keep in mind also that the enemy wants us all to give up and he'll apply pressure so we will give up. It's a hard fought battle, it's never easy, but if you don't give up and you cry out to God you will see God move, in His way and in His time.

Proverbs 21:31 says that the horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.

Meaning we have to do our part, but the victory will always rest with God. Don't give up! Ask for wisdom on how to pray for certain situations, and never give your prayer life a day off!

I'll join Kathy in praying for you, believe God will show up on your behalf.

God bless you Sharon
